- International media are increasingly calling for the truce to be respected and extended due to its importance in reducing the number of victims of this futile and unjust war and mitigating the repercussions of the inhumane blockade on the Yemeni people.
- Sana’a government (NSG) has been positively dealing with the truce for humanitarian reasons, despite the fact that the truce did not meet the humanitarian requirements to break the illegal and inhumane blockade on the Yemeni people and territory. However, the other party continues to deal recklessly with the truce and refuses to comply with it by insisting on not facilitating flights to Cairo, and by the continued piratical seizure of the oil derivatives ships. They also keep on disregarding humanitarian obligations related to the payment of public sector employee’s salaries, the release of prisoners of war, and permitting more passenger aircraft flights to various destinations, as the only two weekly flights do not meet the needs of patients, expatriates and travelers.
- Unfortunately, the international community continues to deal irresponsibly with, and sometimes act with complicity towards, the Saud-led Coalition of war on Yemen and does not work to put serious and effective pressure on those countries to avoid using the humanitarian file as tools of war. Rather, the United Nations is often involved in raising the issue of the inhuman and immoral siege as a means of ongoing racketeering in the political negotiations. In fact, the UN-declared truce is supposed to open the way for serious discussions to achieve peace and not simply for extension and renewal without any real prospect for peace. We hopefully expect from the international community, which should be free from the American domination and the Saudi-Emirati temptation, to work for a real truce in order to reach a just and honorable peace
