POLITICAL PREFACE – August 2022

  1. The National Salvation Government (NSG) in Sana’a continues to cooperate with the UN calls for an extension of a new two-month truce commencing at the beginning of August in the hope that the international community will be given an opportunity to put pressure on the Saudi-led Coalition countries to end their inhumane and militarily unjustified siege, so that Yemen should not be compelled to take measures that would turn the tables on everyone around. Since Yemen is located within a strategic region and the richest region of oil and gas in the world, thirty million of the Yemeni people cannot remain silent under an air, land and sea blockade, dying of starvation and need, while its bounties are robbed openly by the Saudi-led Coalition countries.
  2. In fact, the Saudi-led Coalition countries do not stop with besieging the Yemeni people, but they also, driven by more greedy ambitions, intend to loot its limited resources of oil and gas. Despite the fact that they have excessive riches, they maliciously aim to exacerbate the tragic conditions of Yemeni people. Nevertheless, the National Salivation Government (NSG) provides the international community and the Saudi-led Coalition a final opportunity so that they may refrain from such immoral actions. It also warns against their repercussions, especially after the world has realized the extent of the military capabilities that the Yemeni army has possessed. The army, with its defensive power, could reach the depths of the countries targeting it, i.e. Saudi Arabia and the UAE. It could strike accurately and effectively all their strategic, military and economic institutions. Their advanced defense systems provided to them by their allies in their unjust war, namely the US and UK, would fail to confront our missiles. The oppressed Yemeni people shall not stand helpless and afford the blockade again without making these countries pay the price in retaliation for their aggression. The world, which stands watching the scene idly, would receive its share for its passive attitude.
  3. The Yemeni people hope that the honest and free people of the world will not misunderstand the National Salvation Government’s approval to extend the truce despite the other party’s disrespect for it. We also hope that the other party will return to the negotiating table based on respect for the sovereignty and independence of the Yemeni people in order to reach a constant peace and fair dispute settlement that is devoid of any unjust siege, before any undesirable consequences might happen.
