The Annual Report ( March 2022) Humanitarian Stances in Ukraine… While Suffering in Yemen! – CRIMES AND VIOLATIONS

  1. Six years have passed since the beginning of the military attacks on Yemen, led by the US, Saudi Arabia and the UAE, with their mercenaries during which the most heinous crimes and violations against civilians and civilian objects were committed. During the year 2021, they intensified their military escalation and siege and are still going on until this moment of writing the report. Again, with the advent of year 2022, the Saudi-led War Coalition intensified air strikes, direct bombardments and indiscriminate attacks on populated areas and vital civilian places, resulting in the demolition of the civilian homes and vital service facilities that cannot be dispensed with. Along with its military, air, land and sea attacks on Yemen, the Saudi-led War Coalition imposed arbitrary restrictions on the entry of a large number of ships loaded with food, medicine and oil derivatives. All this has resulted in killing and wounding hundreds of thousands of civilians, mostly children and women, and the destruction of dozens of buildings and service facilities.
  2. The Saudi-led War Coalition, through their armed groups in Hodeidah and its surrounding areas, keep on violating Stockholm Agreement with air strikes and direct indiscriminate attacks on citizens’ homes in Hodeidah and its various districts, in plain view of the United Nations observers (the UN envoys in Hodeidah who are affiliated to the UN Secretary-General’s Envoy in Hodeidah) who did not take the necessary actions against them or even issue any condemnatory statements of those violations and practices committed by the Saudi-led War Coalition and their mercenaries against Yemen and its people.
  3. In the seventh year of the war on Yemen, the countries of the War Coalition, led by the US, Saudi Arabia and the UAE, deliberately intensified and imposed arbitrary restrictions by detaining and hijacking ships and vessels loaded with essential materials for lives of Yemeni people, including foodstuffs, medicine, and oil and gas derivatives, and preventing them from docking at the port of Hodeidah. The War Coalition countries continue to stop and prevent ships from entering Hodeidah port, despite having the UN pass permit documents to enter after inspection. However, these procedures and UN permit documents do not take effect due to the intransigence of the War Coalition countries, which reject these procedures and prevent ships from docking at Hodeidah port.
  4. On January 21st, 2022, the warplanes of the War Coalition, led by the US, Saudi Arabia and the UAE, targeted the buildings of the Reserve Prison in Sa’adah Governorate with three air raids. Through fragments, the bomb remnants and the data printed on the routing suite, which was found in rubble and ruins of the reserve jail after the three air strikes, the bomb was surely identified to be a USA-made “GBU-12 PaveWay II,” weighing 500 pounds. The Regional Office of the Ministry of Human Rights in Sa’adah Governorate obtained live images of the remains of the bomb munitions. The final statistical reports of the rescue and recovery operation teams about the victims on Tuesday, 25 January 2022, indicated the death of 93 inmates and wounding of 270 others, most of them are with severe injuries. A number of them are still under treatment in the hospital ICU with serious health conditions. Their lives are still in danger due to the siege and the failure of the United Nations and its organizations to respond to the government’s request for urgent medical aid and life-saving treatment abroad.
