CRIMES AND VIOLATIONS – October 2022

  1. Despite the humanitarian truce agreements concluded during the previous months and supervised by the United Nations, the Saudi-led War Coalition and their mercenaries deliberately loot oil derivatives (oil and gas), which is the main source of supplying the Central Bank of Yemen (CBY) with the oil and gas revenues. They intentionally deposit these looted revenues to the Saudi National Bank. This has exacerbated the suffering of public service employees and their dependents.
  2. The report of the Executive Center for Mine Action (YEMAC) indicates that it removed 204 cluster bombs this year. The report confirms also that the YEMAC has removed more than 4.5 million cluster bombs since the beginning of the war on Yemen by the US-Saudi-Emirati Coalition.
  3. The report of the Executive Center for Mine Action indicates that, during October 2022, a number of civilian casualties – wounded and killed – were caused by the explosion of the remnants of cluster bombs and anti-personnel mines used by the Saud-led Coalition. The number of casualties during October of this year reached 46, including 18 killed and 28 wounded.
  4. The Executive Center for Mine Action also confirms that 204 children have been killed as a result of the explosion of cluster bombs and remnants of war, including 44 killed since the beginning of 2022. Notably, 145 children were killed or injured, 29 of whom were killed by cluster bombs and remnants of war during the period of the UN-brokered truce.
