During the month of June 2020, the Saudi-led countries of war coalition against Yemen and their mercenaries continued to use their warplanes and missiles to launch a number of air strikes and ground attacks on vital civilian places and facilities in various governorates of the Republic. The war coalition countries and their mercenaries used various heavy and light internationally-prohibited weapons to target populated areas, resulting in the demolition of the civilian homes over the heads of their residents, and the destruction of various vital civil facilities.
The coalition countries and their mercenaries continue to violate the Stockholm Agreement through indiscriminate attacks on citizens’ homes in Hodeidah and its various districts, especially what happens to Al-Durayhimi district due to the suffocating siege. They prevent the entry of various humanitarian aids in the absence of UN representatives and its organizations in Hodeidah, which is a flagrant violation of the rules and provisions of international humanitarian law.
The Security Council’s decision emanating from the report of the UN Secretary-General “in the Seventy-Fourth Session, Item (66), “Promoting and protecting the rights of children,” came to remove the countries of the US-Saudi aggression coalition from the black list for violating the rights of Yemeni children. This resolution coincided with the perpetration of several massacres against children by coalition countries and their mercenaries in the governorates of Sa’adah and Hodeidah, resulting in the killing of dozens of children and women.
An armed group backed by the countries of War Coalition against Yemen raided the village of Khashaa Al-Sofla, in Wadi Abaida, targeting neighborhoods inhabited by the civilian population, killing seven citizens of Al Suba’yan family, including children. They also set fire in the homes of Al Suba’yan family and looted their contents, without moral, religious, humanitarian or legal deterrence.
The arbitrary restrictions imposed by the coalition countries continue to prevent the entry of ships and vessels loaded with the basic materials for the lives of Yemenis including foodstuffs, medicine and oil derivatives and gas through Hodeidah seaport. There are still more than 22 ships loaded with oil derivatives at sea, despite having the UN pass permit documents to enter Hodeidah seaport after inspection.
