The demonstrators chanted slogans against the war on Yemen, demanding that the siege be lifted and stop targeting civilians by the Saudi coalition aircraft.
The demonstration was organized by a Swedish humanitarian association called “The Swedish Association to Support Yemen”, in cooperation with a group of Yemenis, in Odenplan Square in the Swedish capital Stockholm, and they raised slogans and pictures about the war on Yemen, in addition to the Yemeni flags.
A number of the Yemeni community in Sweden and local citizens participated in the demonstration, in addition to the Syrian, Iraqi and Lebanese Arab communities.
The campaign official, Olf Sandmark, said that solidarity with Yemen is the responsibility of everyone, “It is important to say that Saudi Arabia is the one who waged and started the war, and there is a government in Sanaa that is working but no one is talking about this.”
He added that the western world is carrying out a barbarian siege against Yemen, organized by the major countries from France, Britain and America, and it is supplying weapons to the Saudi alliance, including Sweden as well. He also explained that Saudi Arabia is only acting on the orders of Western powers, “and therefore we have a great responsibility to end these barbaric actions now.”
For his part, Walid Al-Mufti, Vice President of the Swedish Society for Yemen Support, said that the vigil to stop the destruction and killing in Yemen, “We are here to deliver the injustice of the Yemeni people to the delegation in Sweden to end the war,” hoping that there will be solutions to the war in Yemen.
